Some friends from Canada and PA are trying to put together a fall hike. Any suggestions on a good section of the LT???

Lincoln Gap to Route 2 would get my vote. Not an easy section of trail, but one of the best. Might have to start a little further north depending on fitness level. Really can't go wrong anywhere north of Brandon Gap in the fall.
Thanks Deadeye!
Bennington to Manchester Ctr is a 40 mile stretch with 2 firetower views (outstanding), Stratton Pond and lots of wilderness. Only two forest service road crossings over the entire stretch.
Manchester to Rutland (Rt 4) is a 50 mile hike with numerous lakes, ponds. Great views on Bromley, Styles, Baker Peak and of course Killington.

Thanks....we were thinking about putting Killington on one end or the other because Brewery
Well, with over 50 breweries in Vermont, you're never that far away...
And Jeff's right - those are nice sections of trail, so I'll amend my original post to you really can't go wrong north of Bennington!
Manchester to Killington is excellent for a group. Might be a touch long for 3-4 days unless everyone can do some miles
I prefer that over south of there
Camels hump parking lot to somewhere the other side of Mansfield is very scenic but also quite hard. It's an option, and the views are fantastic, but mileage expectations should be low
You can do a loop thru the Lye brook Wilderness. You can use just one car and visit some places off the LT. Bourn Pond is pretty and you can walk the old logging railroad that once climbed the mountain to get logs out.
