Default Time for Morels Fresh Picked

We had rain this morning so it's time to go out and get some morels. Fry in butter or coconut oil.

Take a look at the size of this one (not mine)

Always wanted the try foraging, but afraid I'd eat the wrong thing and die a horrible painful death.

Those are so hard to find in Ct. - 90% of the wild mushrooms I pick here are the chicken of the woods and chantrells, Nothing beats the taste of wild mushrooms.

Haha! Here in Bar Harbor there is not so much as a leaf to be seen.
I went out in April looking fir morels when I first moved here . But mid May is more like it. Ive heard that when the trilliums are in bloom is the ideal time for morels.
