Troutdale or Marion Va parking

Any suggestions for parking in either of these towns?

The Mt Rogers Park office on VA 16 has secure parking inside the fence. I have parked outside the fence by the highway for several days on 2 different occasions with no problems. If you park inside the fence/gate, you limit your pickup time to when they are open. There is room to park at Dickey Gap(Troutdale) but I have not tried it so cannot say how safe it might be.

If you park at the Ranger Station just be sure to know the hours the gate is locked. I think it is locked most if not all of the weekend. Probably an easier section to do Sobo. Our club maintains the 1st 8 miles South of the Ranger station/headquarters.
