Default Use it as my dry sack for sleeping bag?

I own a zpacks sleeping bag. It came with a CF sack. I recently lucked into an Exped SynMat and it comes with the Shnozzle PumpBag. When I was watching the video on their site it mentions that it's actually a "dry bag." So I ditched my CF bag and my trash compactor bag and put my sleeping bag and all my clothes in the pumpbag. Makes sense to me. Am I wrong?

That will probably cause premature failure of the bag, I would go with a Sea to Summit Ultrasil dry bag specifically for the sleeping bag.

I do put my sleeping bag in mine, but I did not eliminate the compactor bag. My clothes all go in another dry sack that I use as a pillow. I don't know if it would cause the snozzle to fail earlier using it like this. I suspect not much of a problem as long as you are not including sharp edges in the bag. But I have no idea if it would last a through hike like this.

I believe it would work great for a pack liner/stuff sack; I also believe, it would inflate your pad, even should it become compromised, waterproof wise.

Your post had me getting out the schnozzel pump; I like your suggestion. Thanks.

My sleeping bag fits in a turkey roaster bag that I use; I won't be ditching it, but, using the schnozzel as a pack liner, as an added lightweight layer of protection, makes sense to me. I'm taking it any way for use with the pad; now I'll get double use out of it.

I prefer to use a compactor bag so I can stuff the sleeping bag in it and fill out the bottom of my pack. Imagine filling an aquarium with rocks. You lose a lot of space!

I use the shnozzle bag exactly like I used to use the compactor bag. No loss of space.

I didn't mean to get between you and your shnozzle.

Getting a zpaks sleeping bag back into it's sack takes a certain degree of violence and engineering skills. I need to get a turkey roasting bag and work on my upper body strength.

Well stated. Especially the violence part.
