39 miles is about 31 miles farther than the average starter, methinks. When we ended last week at Woody Gap (sobo section from NC), the guy driving the shuttle from the Hiker Hostel saw a northbound hiker and was amazed that she had made it to Woody from Springer in two days - a total of 20 miles. Told her she was making really great time, compared to all the other hikers he has seen. I think the vast majority of starting hikers are going to Hawk Mtn on the first day.

I'm striking out. I found her Instagram but don't see any mileage update picture. If anybody knows how to follow her daily updates, let us know. On her instagram video she says something about following her on "story." I found a "story -social media" app but no luck finding her on it.

Yeah, I found her Instagram feed and am "following." But there's no mileage update. She may have taken it down, which may be wise. If I were her I'd post a with a delay -- a day or two behind where's she's at just for safety/anonymity.
Annish kept it vague and then all of a sudden she'd be 200 miles down the trail and I'd say "thatagirl!" It was fun to watch.
All I know is that is way too many hashtags to successfully complete an FKT.

C'mon! Not much to understand, hashtags are simply user-defined extensible universal platform inter-independent metadata. I agree, she'll have to shed a few if she is to have any hope of setting a record.

Ahh, OK, found it. Only available on the phone App. She said the day 1 terrain was tougher than expected and slowed her down to 2 mph.
Yes she only post to the stories. Being Eddie Bauer sponsored may have something to do with how much she can post. Not sure how sponsors work.
