Default Video: Foothills Trail Backpacking Trip

This past weekend I met up with a good friend and his son, and along with my oldest son, we went for a 3 day-40 mile hike along the Foothills Trail, spanning the border of SC and NC. This was my sons first backpacking trip ever, and he did awesome! I was very proud of how well he handled the difficulties of a few days on the trail.
The attached video is part one of the three part video series from this trip. Along with showing the trail, we spend a lot of time over the three videos talking about gear and cooking. Check it out and subscribe to the channel if you like what you see! Thanks!

Hey Backpkrmn, great video! Which section did you do? If you said, I missed it.
I will be down in your city for the next six weeks - love the Charleston area!

Nice! We did Sloan Bridge through Laurel Valley, about 40 miles. Part 2 will be out on Tuesday, and the final part 3 on Thursday of next week.

This is great. I plan to thru the Foothills trail this summer with the family. Gonna start with an overnight-er with them to make sure they all want to give it a shot. I am thinking now it will be just me and my 10yo daughter though.

Looks like we just missed each other. I finished my thru-hike of the FT around noon on Saturday (3/25) at Table Rock State park. Was great weather all week except for the first day/afternoon (Tuesday 3/21) when those terrible thunderstorms rolled through. High recommend this trail to anyone thinking about it.

how do you guys think a 10 year old girl will do on the trail? She hangs right with me on most trail and the Chimney rock stairs.
