    Default Glove shells

What do you guys use for glove shells? I have been looking for something light weight and waterprood, dont really need insulation as that will come from liners.

All I have found is mittens, or gloves with insulation.

Any other options besides mitts? I really hate not having use of my digits.

The Marmot Precip gloves have an insulated liner, but it only takes about 5 minutes to remove (cut out) the liner and you end up with a waterproof shell that has a true gauntlet (hard to find anymore). I did the same thing with the Precip mitts and loved the end result. You just have to be comfortable cutting on a $35 brand new piece of gear.

Great idea! Not sure why it never dawned on me to do that with a pair of lined gloves I've had for a while but become too hot (and wet with resulting perspiration) to use routinely. Gonna try this.
