I'm honestly not sure when kickoff weekend is, so I probably won't be there......buuuuuut March 5th is when I plan to hit the Trail and, like you, I CAN'T WAIT! March can't get here soon enough.

We'll be at relatives on the 4th & 5th, so no kickoff for us. But, we'll hit Springer the 8th and I feel like a kid waiting for summer vacation...time is moving so slowly.

Kickoff weekend as at the Amicalola lodge the first weekend of March. http://www.atko.info/ is the website about it, they need to get the schedule updated!

Are you doing the approach trail? If so, we'll see you when they drop you off as we're catching a ride from Amicalola back to the Hostel with the shuttle that morning.

Darn, we're arriving on the 7th, all booked, didn't realize this gathering existed. Might look into small start date shift...

I'm not trying to be a "Debbie-Downer," just looking for clarification: judging from the speakers/topics they say they had last year, it seems this is all information a prospective thru-hiker should already be well-versed in. Is it more catered to those looking into a thru in the near future?

I will be attending the ATKO with my wife and will start on the approach trail on Monday morning.
