These are the only two parks I know of that don't allow dogs. I'm going to hand off my furry friend during Baxter, but for the Smokies I'm jumping between skipping them or hiking around them. Any advice?

You can hike around the Smokies, if you don't mind doing a 125 mile road walk. It's a long way around and hope you don't get run over along the way on those narrow, twisty mountain roads which the locals drive on at high rates of speed.
You can kennel your dog, shuttle around or hitch around, but your not going to hike around.

You could get family to come get the furry friend at one end of the Smokies and 5 days later bring them to you at the other end. Just a thought.
There are wonders out there, now to find them.
I'm going to kennel for the 5 days and pick up on the other side. Not real excited about the price (seems a bit gougy) but it is what it is.
Don't skip Baxter, just kennel your dog, if it makes it that far.
I highly recommend Katahdin Kritters.

Thanks! I think I'll either board or have family/friend pick up my dog in the smokies, as I don't live too far from there. Since it's not too long if a while without her, I think I'll be fine. She is my best friend, after all.
