Default Looking for AT map of Virginia only

    Hello

I am looking for a physical map (not digital) of the Virginia section (only Virginia) of the AT.

I found this one http://www.sherpaguides.com/virginia...ian_trail.html but would like something with more detail.

I also need it to be one map rather than multiples.

    Thanks for your help !

Thanks Rolls ; I have done an extensive internet search with no luck. That is why I asked for input here on the forum.

Chuck, I tried NatGeo first but only found maps of the entire trail.

Does anyone else have any ideas ?

    Much appreciated !

Good luck with your quest. Finding a single paper map that covers the 550 miles of AT in the state of Virginia with any detail will be near if not impossible. I currently have the ATC maps 1 through 5 that I would be willing to part with if you are interested.

The National Geo small book maps might work, though you'll probably have to buy several to cover VA. They are more like a brochure/book that opens up, but closed they are the size of a folded map. Pretty cool.

(Looks like you need three of them, # 1503, 1504, and 1505)

We were just through Virginia on a vacation trip. At Skyland gift shop in the Shanandoah I purchased a National George map of the AT in the park and I saw another set of 3 for the entire park (more detail presumably). So you can get that much on one or in one set.

If you carry a smartphone, I would just go with the Guthooks AT app. The two sections covering Virginia are $8.99 each. The app is good enough for general trail use.

    Thanks for all the input.

The goal is a wall map that would display all of Virginia.

I will let you know how we come out on this project.

    Thanks Again!

If you want a wall map. I'd get an image and take it to a Staples (no commercial interest at all) and have them print to size.

It looks like that is exactly what I will be doing Chuck.

But first I am going to have to combine multiple images to make them into a single map.

Seems like I recall a Web site, free, where you can do just that. Or maybe with Google maps?

There a website called onlinemapfinder (one word) that seems to do what you're wanting.
