Default WALKING HOME-Part 1- Appalachian Trail Documentary

Hi guys. I'm new to this forum, but I'm a filmmaker who followed a father and son on their 2015 thru-hike. I recently posted Part 1 of my new documentary on youtube and I wanted to share it here with all you trail enthusiasts. It's not your typical hike and talk film that I've seen on. I tried to weave as many compelling narratives that I found along the trail. I'm interested in your feedback!

    Thanks!

Thanks Sandy of PA! I'm working on Part 2 right now. Trying to wrap it up just in time for the holidays.

Don't have time for the you-tube but your title 'Walking Home' has meaning with me that I wanted to share. I live close to the AT in NY, and started in GA in 2013. For about 2/3rds of the trail I comforted myself sometimes that I was just 'Walking Home"

I was helpful for me to know that and helped to transition to trail life, at which time I reached home there is npo question I would continue on to Katahdin, which I did.

My husband and I love all things AT and so watching your video was our pleasure. You did a great job!! The video was high quality as we almost felt like we were there. You did a good job editing too-enjoyed the different stories tied in along the way. Very well done.!!! We can't wait to watch #2.

Thank you guy for the kind words and encouragement. It was certainly an amazing experience to get out there on the trail and discover the stories! And there are so many more!

Yes there is tons of stories out there and nowadays plenty of 'footage'. The trick is to be able to edit, cut and present the stories and you are doing it well.

I love watching videos and recognizing hikers Ive talked to on the trail. My Gf and I met On Purpose at BSP the year after his hike. He was staying at the park the weekend we bagged Hamlin Peak and North Brother. We talked to him at Roaring Brook as we watched a cow moose walk out into the pond early one evening.

    Very nicely done video.
