    Default Shallowford natural area day hike with a toddler.

    Hey guys and gals so my 2 year old and me took a little 3 mile day hike in Alamance county NC along the MTS at the Shallowford natural area. Great little hike beautiful fall colors.IMG_4613.JPG

    Awesome! I very nearly did some backcountry camping there recently, but travel timing issues led me to South Mountains SP, also a great place.

    Way to go, getting them started young!

    Yeah I have yet to camp there myself the 3 designated backcountry sites are right off of the Haw river ez access for all the kayak traffic, I bet it would be great to fall asleep to the sound of the river I need to check it out sometime soon, I only live 10 minutes from here.
