Done that too. Can post it if you'd like but she's right in saying she never would of caught up with him. Only averaging 25.69 miles a day for her first 10 days left her far behind him. Karl was 250 miles a head the day before he did a 16 mile day, and 2 days before he had his 23 mile day he was still 195 miles ahead.

Sept 10 - Chestnut Knob (mile 1621), Woodchuck Hostel, Damascus
Sept 11 - TN/VA State Line, Double Springs Shelter
    Sept 12 - Mountain Harbour B&B
So she got from Niday Shelter (1504) on Sept. 8th to Damascus (1719) in two days?
And on September 10th alone she went roughly 100 miles?

Where are you getting all the data points for her locations?

From her facebook posts mainly, but also data other people have collect (a post on FKT.proboards forum and this thread), and people who have reached out to her to help her prove this.

The section from Atkins to Springer is really hard for me to believe.

The numbers almost - almost - show that such a feat is within the realm of possibility. Just not for a cigarette smoker who's carrying some extra body fat and a loaded backpack, and who's required to stop occasionally to resupply en route. Never mind getting to and from any off-trail resupply points, or what it might mean to haul 150-200 miles worth of food at a time (irrespective of rate of speed). Carrying that many calories (which are necessary to maintain not just speed but body fat!) would be obligatory, or would stopping and resupplying more frequently.

The best description of her feat so far: Unbelievable!

(unbelievable [uhn-bi-lee-vuh-buh l], adjective: 1. too dubious or improbable to be believed.

Up to Pearisberg, averaging 43 miles a day is still a big step up on Anish, but is seemingly more believable. Excluding Karl's last day, since he didn't sleep, his biggest day was 60.1 miles, and she would of averaged 66 miles for 9 days 16 hours.

For comparison, Karl did Pearisberg (actually from VA 641, Clendennin Road VA 5 miles before) to Springer in closer to 12 days averaging 53 miles per day, including that mammoth 83 mile day at the end.

That's it, the numbers do almost make it seem possible. Excluding the end at least. And with people i hiked with, other internet folk and the Top of Georgia hostel vouching for her i want to believe she actually hiked it. If you wanted to get technical I don't think she could claim the record still, i very much doubt she hiked 8 miles off trail and back to a hostel in Andover though. And going 1.7 miles off in to Hamburg for resupply makes no sense since it's 0.4 miles in to Port Clinton which is actually on trail, and sandwiched between Delaware Water Gap and Duncannon.

When was she at Top Of GA hostel? I guess I missed that.

I have my doubts. Karl went the last 18 days without a shower. The one photo of hereleg with a TINY scratch shows her legs are shaved. let me tell you, when you are tired, as you would be averaging 50 mpd, you don't shave your legs. She does not look to have lost any weight. There are so few photos of scenic vistas or notable places. and how convenient that her phone is now dead. She's way too clean in all of her videos and pictures. Karl had a team to make all his food and set up his shelter every night. I bet if someone with an AWOL guide or other would be able to confirm that she likely has only posted pics/video from points that are easily reached via an auto road. And yeah, I understand all the AT is very accessible but I would be surprised if we can verify anything more than 5 miles from a road. And if anyone has been reading trail journals, did anyone mention her as BEING ON THE TRAIL all day for even 1 day? And she did a NOBO and then set a SOBO FKT record? Please!

Sometime on the 17th, i'd guess early morning since they say she went on to hike another 44 miles that day.

I'd be very interested in knowing what towns she resupplied in.

Reading her bio she mentioned after the assault none of her commanding officers believed her.
Now she is in the position of having to defend herself again.
SA is a real issue and a huge issue in the military.
I sure hope her FKT is real. I cannot imagine her pain.

    doubtful but hopeful.

Obviously, this is a farce. Anyone that has tried to cover +50mpd easily knows this. JPD trained for like two years for her hike. Jurek and Meltzer's background is evident. Matt Kirk owns every FKT in the South. Sorry, folks. The days of someone just stepping on the trail and taking home a record on sheer guts are long gone.

No one will believe she bested any record in the manner she has gone about it . Even if it was so, and I view that as highly improbable.

I suspect she learns difference between famous, and infamous.

Amen to that. I've done it twice in races, but failed twice with a pack on. One of these days I'll pull it off, but the big takeaway I've learned is that the first 30 isn't the hard part. It's everything that comes after the day's already gotten long that really makes it tough (particularly mentally).

She's now taken her instagram, twitter, etc links off her website. Just facebook is left, and she's made almost everything friends only after having a lot of public posts last night.
