    there are two separate and distinct meanings for "pitching a tent in a shelter"...one of them is more erecting than the other!

    well, from Google...

    (5th definition of 'pitch' as verb)
    set up and fix in a definite position.
    "we pitched camp for the night"
    synonyms: put up, set up, erect, raise, position, fix in position, place, locate; set up camp
    "they pitched their tents for the night"

    Pitch would seem to be the better choice as 'erect' means to construct, and I think the definition above seems a better fit. But then, "erecting" is a common use, so I don't know why it would be funny to anyone but a goofy kid. And I want to be clear that I don't think there's anything wrong with being a goofy kid.
