Default Springer to Neel Gap this weekend

Starting my section hike this weekend from Springer to feel Gap. Any tips would be great. Planing on hammock camping each night. I have an older sleeping bag that I use, but it is a 15 deg that comes in at 4 lbs. I normally just use it for cover by sleeping with it open. Thinking of dropping it to save weight and just bring a fleece blanket since the GA heat is so high right now. I have a YouTube vid that I did. https://youtu.be/r7lGuYaCPRM that shows most of my equipment. I did not include the food bag or water yet in the wight. As of right now I am at about 16-17lbs without food or water. Did pick up some more Mnt House meals this weekend and some tuna packets and tortias to bring as far as food goes. Anything that I can change?

I would defiantly drop the 4Lb. sleeping bag. With the heat we're having. I pick up a flees camping blanket and it's really been to much.

That's a great section of the AT to hike. Your pack will carry 28-30lbs with ease. You could probably tweak what you have out to be at 23-25lb skin out.

yea the more I think of it. I will change the sleeping bag out. No reason to carry it if I have other lighter options. Just have to look around the house tonight and see what i can come up with. Going get an OQ maybe this year.

A fleece blanket/sleeping bag would be better than the 15 degree sleeping bag! If it were me (I sleep cold), I'd still bring a warm hat and some very light core insulation, such as a 100 wt fleece pullover to sleep in as a backup.
