Hello and peace to you!

I am looking for a good set of trail maps for George Washington National Forest. I called the ranger office, and they told me that they no longer provide trail maps, but to check out the National geographic map sets.
I am curious if anyone has any recommendations or knows where to find those old maps the park service used to produce. (or if I am best off with the Nat Geo maps)

Have you done a search for USGS Topo Maps? I think some you can buy, some older or less detailed ones may be free.

PATC has some decent maps for the northern areas I recall.

Great! Thanks so much for the responses. I think I have been pretty spoiled with the NY/NJ Trail Conference maps (I use the 2005 versions), so I am having trouble finding something comparable. Looks to me like the PATC maps should be pretty good.
