LW, I have been to Maine three different times, once in May, once in June, and once in August. Never needed a headset. I have yet to see a Maine mosquito or a Maine black fly.

what were you doing there in June? Early may/august could be not bad for bugs, but I got murdered in June and headed for some coastal refuge after a section hike

We were section hiking from Stratton to Andover. That was when my friend could go. We had no bugs but it rained 26 days in June there that year.
