CNN.com has a whole interview article about Inchworm's missing. Although the news is frightening, it also confirms that she is well stocked with what she needs and that she is a veteran AT backpacker with good sense. It lists the other hikers whom she might have encountered before she got off trail. The husband who was to meet her for resupply is interviewed as he awaits her arrival days late. It contains an interview of a hiker about conditions that day as well as a photo of those conditions. It mentions other trails that intersect which she might have accidentally followed. Don't we all relate to that! God be with her.

Wow... Brentwood is right down the road from me. It's also where the "Nashville" REI is. I sure hope they find this lady all right.

I went to the ATI with her and her husband in Sept '11. This is so sad - I hope they find her safely

    Hi,
It's Kit(also at ATI with you). They sure are doing everything humanely possible to find her. Hopefully, today!

    To Kit,
I am spreading the word about the correction for the 207 phone number. Thanks!

For those of you may have just read the title to the thread and thought the Warden was looking for everyone who has ever hiked the trail to play arm chair detective based on second and third hand report about where she may or may have went and what areas of Maine to search.

That was NOT the assistance they were seeking.

Some of you obviously feel that is the assistance they need. It is/was not. They simply wanted to talk to anyone who was the trail who might have seen inchworm the day or two before her disappearance.

    Hope that clears that up.
Love people and use things; never the reverse.

Mt. Katahdin would be a lot quicker to climb if its darn access trail didn't start all the way down in Georgia.

Hi. Finding Gerry is the main objective. This has not happened. People discussing possible search locations/possibilities in a respectful manner, that is not an issue. If a respectful discussion jars loose some possible bit of local lore that might be helpful, that would be awesome.

If you have an issue with a thread use the report post icon or contact a moderator, do not jump in a thread and proceed to tell everyone how the thread should be run as you are not a moderator. Thank you.

It appears that the Wardens have all but given up, so in my view, it is quite appropriate for the AT community to try to figure out what happened. I stayed out of the searchers way this weekend (hiked a different section), but am at Sugarloaf base this week on part vacation/part work from remote. I provided first hand information about the trail, and have seen no visible search activity in the past four days.

Does anyone know if Gerry's family and/or friends have consulted with a psychic? I know this is a controversial topic, but honestly, at this point, what could it hurt? I have no personal experience with psychics (or those who claim to be), but I've read of cases where a psychic offers information that is helpful to investigators.
