Default Volunteer shuttle network in New York (Harriman, Bear Mountain)

AT and Long Path hikers can now request a (practically) free lift in the area of Harriman State Park, New York, and Bear Mountain, New York. MyHarriman.com has organized a network of more than 50 volunteer drivers who will pick you up, take you to a trailhead, train station, town amenity, etc. We only ask a three dollar contribution, to cover the cost of gas. We'll cover Tuxedo, Sloatsburg, Suffern, Harriman, and Bear Mountain -- further if you need.

All you have to do to request a ride is join the Facebook Group "Base Camp 17", and post your request. We'll connect you with a driver and you can exchange phone numbers/email addresses. https://www.facebook.com/groups/892652544195219/

This is a much needed service in this area. I wish you offering this last September when I was doing a section hike there.
