Looking for weekend AT backpack trip ideas

[COLOR=#444444 !important]I live in Atlanta and would like to spend a Fri-Sun on the AT, staying in shelters or near them (to meet peeps) at end of April or beginning of May. Im trying to pick beautiful a section in GA, NC or TN, no more than 1-3 hours drive from ATL.Im guessing I can hike 10 miles a day. I dont want to go back to my car the same way I came.
