I only spent 1/2 day at VVR in order to do dinner, laundry, bkfast, and lunch, but I would have loved to spend a day or so more just to chill and eat the great food and socialize more. VVR is a great place, even without water in lake.

Vvr is great. Spent a night there - did laundry, showered, a visitor saw us jmt through hikers and bought us 2 rounds of beer.. Then vvt crue starts a fire ring nightly.. Camped right outside the kitchen. Great experience..

I also hiked from Kennedy Meadows to VVR without resupplying and I didn't regret it a bit. I believe it took around 9 days.

The thing is, but the time you get around Kersarge Pass when everyone is going off trail to resupply the food weight from Kennedy Meadows is getting comfortable. It's not like you're carrying 9 days of food all the way to VVR. And I didn't run out of food either.

If I had it to do over I'd do it the same way.

The majority of people resupply someplace in-between. At least that was my observation while at KM this last year.
