I usually have a hot cup of Via or Bustello instant as I’m making breakfast. Then I mix another cup’s worth with Nido instant milk, and Carnation Essentials in my water bottle for another high calorie, high protean, caffeinated drink as I start hiking.

I ordered some of that Maxim coffee a while back. Several different "flavors". I believe the one I bought was the "gold". It's a hug box and I've only used a bit camping here and there. It's basically instant with a powdered creamer and sugar all in one.

I find it to be very weak but ok. I actually like it better than the via, which I find to be like most starbucks stuff to be too bitter, except the maxim is way too weak. I like strong coffee.

In my 10 oz cup, I usually either;
use one pack maxim + a pack of viaor use two packs, one full, and one just the coffee. It's still too weak this way, but tastes ok.

Interesting. I might agree with you. I also think Starbucks is too bitter, but I do make my own coffee fairly strong. 100 packs a LOT of coffee, your technique might work for me.

My local Publix is now carrying empty teabags so you can make them yourself. I'm going to try them with fresh roasted and ground coffee and see how they work. (I often roast and grind my own, anyway)

they’re alright, I like VIA better, but I’m not currently support Starbucks for reasons I won’t go into here.

I'll second the Nescafe instant in packet form. If you can find them. Only 1 or 2 grocery stores carry them by me. Most do carry bulk Nescafe though.

The Nescafe instant is the coffee of choice of the Nepali sherpas & cooks. They got em hooked on it 2 years ago when I was there. I now buy it for work because I can't stand the generic work coffee. Plus the smell & taste helps take me back to many Himilayan mornings drinking coffee and waiting for the world to come alive.

I do like Nescafe Classico. I sometimes take their via-type packs.
