    Is this new section at the base where the AT goes under I-40?

    Skipper....Maybe you mean I-84, near Nuclear Lake? There is a nice stair case there. This is on the south side of Bear Mtn. New York. Between 7 Lakes Road ans Perkins drive

    I worked on the first stone steps from bottom to road...hope this is as good as we did

    This section is awesome. Just did it a few weeks ago. It used to be straight up the mountain and was very rough and rock and comical. There would be thru hikers and then just tons of people from nyc and around trying to go up in flip flops and high heels. The new section is stepped and really nice. It’s much more pleasant than before and has a nice tutorial at the bottom showing how it was built.
