PCT hiker list for 06?

I don't remember when he started carrying it (he didn't start until 10-May???), but our pal Chris carried his axe until he went 48 hours without using it. Sound like a plan?

That's right. From Kennedy Meadows to Chester. That was like 650 miles or something.

I'm probably going to head out in '06. I haven't committed 100%, but I have the OK from my wife and am putting off starting a grad degree.

I'm in the process of figuring out which gear from this past year stays and which gets replaced/augmented. I also need to get my ass in shape, as between recoverying from the AT and sitting at a desk job, but I've been eating a little too much like a thru-hiker.

I haven't looked at the mileage/supplies/water/snowpack side of things yet, so I don't have an exact start date, but I need to decide soon, so I can snag a cheap flight from MKE/ORD to CA.
