Default Seeking recommendation for 4-5 day section

    Good morning-

Seeking recommendation for a 4-5 day section hike in late July. We have friends to assist with leaving our car at one end. We'll be going from Windsor, so ideally not too far north. We are both fit and I have a lot of backpacking experience, but it will the first multi day trip for my friend.

    Thanks,
    jen

How about Killington to Camel's Hump? If that is too far, there are several gaps along the way to shorten the trip. The terrain gets increasingly more difficult as you go North ending in a climatic hike/climb up Camel's Hump. A nice meal at Prohibition Pig in Waterbury after the trip would be a nice end cap.

You could also start in Bolton (trail section right after Camel's Hump and road walk) and go North over Mansfield and the notch for more difficult terrain if that is what is desired.

You could do the first 3 divisions with a start at Pine Cobble trail head in Williamstown, MA. It would be about 60 miles and the car drop would be at USFS Road 21 just before Mad Tom Notch.

There are many possibilites, but it really depends on what you are looking for.
Do you want solitude, or to meet people at shelters?
Do you want great vistas from the tops of mountains, or do the songs of birds in the forest charm you?
Are you looking for a physical challenge, or would you rather take it easy on your knees, hips, feet, etc.?
Until we know where your interests lie, all we can do is tell you what satifies our interests.

On the other hand, it's a great trail, and if you're like me, any choice will have it's charms! Wherever you end up going, have an amazing time!
