Flashing icons in forum page

The flashing icons in forum page should really be dropped. They are quite annoying. The new ones are especailly annoying because the flash-rate is higher.

Keep in mind that moving graphics attract focus and so detract from the usability of the web page.

I hate them, too.

Fortunately for you, there's a limit of four per message.

But I have them disabled so mine don't move.

However, I must admit, those *(&&*!#@ banannas look even dumber sitting still.

I go straight to "new posts" so I never see them.

But I just checked to see what you are talking about, and you're right ..yuck!

The flashing icons on the front page let you know that there are new posts in those specific threads. I can slow down the rate of the flash though.

It's not my site and I wasn't gonna complain about those really annoying, blinking icons.....so I am happy to see that somebody did for me....
