Default Do Surdan Mountain and Smith Hill Roads in Sharon, CT Go Through to Rt. 7?

I'm looking to hike from Rt 4 to West Cornwall in Sharon, possibly solo. If so, I want to bike from West Cornwall Road to the Rt. 4 t/h.

Does anyone here know if Surdan Mountain and Smith Hill Roads, which form a shorter cut through from the paved West Cornwall Road headed toward Cornwall Bridge, are open to the public and does Smith Hill go all the way through? My online navigational searching looks hopeful, but inconclusive.

Any beta on this would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

PS: While I'm at it, is Sharon Mountain Road, coming northward off West Cornwall Road, passable for an average civillian car, and if so, how far up? Also considering a hike-and-bike up from W.C. Rd to Hang-Glider Point, hiking and bushwhacking back to the bike on S.M. Road, thence via bike to W.C. Rd trailhead.

These two hikes are all I lack of the CT A.T., so looking to do them soon, solo if need be.
