Trail Name: Dancer
Direction: Flip Flop, Current plan is to start just before the entrance to the SNP, hike north to Katahdin, back to starting point and south to Springer. I originally intended a NOBO hike, so am still making plan adjustments.
Estimated Start Date: April 4
I'm partially blind and hiking with my guide dog, trail name: Wild Thing, who is a German Shepherd.
I decided on this plan four months ago and am already experiencing that Mental challange people talk about as being bigger than the physical ddifficulty. I'm someone who does well with spontaneity, not so good at long term planning, but it was clear to me that this is something that requires real planning. So I'm slogging through. I certainly have a lot to get done by then - anyone know anyone who wants to sublet a great room in a great location in Manhattan for about 7 months?
Officially throwing my bandana into the ring.

I moved back home with my parents for the last year and a half at the age of 31. This is what allowed me to save up enough money for my trip. I have done all of my backpacking in the upper midwest. With the majority of it done in northern Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Spent 2011-2014 living in Duluth, MN where I was able to refine my different hiking systems and test out all of my gear. Getting really excited to get out there on the trail. At this point in my planning I am getting excited, a little nervous, anxious, and getting quite the itchy foot. See you all out there.
