Default Parking at Little Cataloochee and NC284

Can anyone provide some feedback on parking at this trail head?

Seems pretty remote, and I can't tell looking at Google Earth if there is even any place to park at the trail head.

Been a long time, but you're right, it's a very remote graveled road. In good shape, last time I was there. Little Cataloochee wasn't very popular then, and I didn't see a sole. The road into the settlement was gated, which offered several spots to pull into. I think the road may have been wide enough to park just off it and still allow any traffic to pass safely, but I'm not certain of that. Hopefully someone with more recent knowledge will happen by to confirm or refute what I've written.

That's a lovely little place. I've always wanted to go back for more in-depth exploration.

Since the introduction of the Elk, Cataloochie Valley is heavily used now! Numerous day hikers as well as overnighters park at all the trailheads, especially Palmer Creek, Mt. Sterling Ridge and Caldwell Fork. Be careful where you park too and watch your speed. The Rangers Patrol that very heavily and WILL put a ticket in your hand for speeding or improper parking! It used to be a nice peaceful place but tourist have basically ruined it!
