Day Hike Suggestions

Hello,

Could anyone please suggest a pup-friendly 8-10 mile day hike for this weekend in North Carolina? I have hiked the AT through GA, NC, and TN, so any connecting or nearby off the AT trails near the Asheville/Black Mountain/Boone/Blocking Rock area would be appreciated. A trail similar to Mount Mitchell (10ish miles) would be ideal for the short amount of time I have. Thank you in advance.

In and out to shining rock is about 8 miles and is a easy hike on Trail 101 Investor Gap Trail. More challenging is Triail 46 The Art Loeb Trail
