Default Section hike near petosky MI

Hi! I'm looking for a quick weekend hike around the Petosky area of the NCT. Does anyone know how complete the trail is through that section, where a good trail head would be (probably just gonna hike for a day, camp, and then turn around and go back to the car unless a loop is available), and how available water is in that area? I've never done a section of the NCT before but I'm from MI so it seemed to be about time I check it out. Also any information on where back country camping is allowed would be great.

    Basically any information is appreciated!

    Thanks guys!

Here is a link to the NCT free maps and info. I think you might find some possibilities.

nice campsite where the trail intersects Wycamp lane south of Wilderness State Park. Road walk either way out of Petosky proper.

There is a parking area off Lakeview at Sturgeon Bay. You can hike into Wilderness State Park or go south into
the Wycamp Lake area. Either way will offer great views and hiking.
