    Default If you were curious about rain on the JMT...

    I've still been at it, writing up an account of each day on the trail. Day 10 we had what the rangers referred to as a "monsoon". It made a creek uncrossable for many. Here's the full account-

    Welcome to California Mountains. It does rain and it can get bad. I am glad you made it safely out.

    Yeah, I was camped at Center Basin Creek when that storm hit. I had planned to cross Forester Pass the next day but changed my mind and took a day off. The day after the zero day it was raining when I crossed Forester. There was also about 6" of wet snow to negotiate above about 12,000' elev. And, Tyndall, Wright and Wallace Creeks were out of their banks. All were hip-deep, fast-flowing, cold wades.
