Default Starting a BMT thru-hike later this week

    Hey all,

Long-time reader, first-time contributor here. I've been planning a BMT thru hike for the past few months and the big day is almost here. I'll start up the approach trail from AFSP on Thursday morning 5/15. Plan to arrive in Reliance by 5/23, Fontana Dam by 5/30, and Big Creek by 6/6. Just thought I would put this information out there in case there is anyone planning to be on the trail at the same time. If all goes well, I'll have a trip report to share sometime next month.

good luck. May see you out there. I am heading from Erwin SOBO on the AT in about 10 days. may bypass the Smokies and pick up the BMT on the southside. or just may take the BMT thru the Smokies again. will decide in the next few days.anyways, good luck, have fun and hope our paths cross.

Since I'm thinking of hiking the BMT next spring, I'm looking forward to your trip report. Have a great hike.

Good luck and have fun. If things work out I'll hike the BMT this year, so I'm looking forward to hearing about your hike.
