Default Did you see there is a 7.4 oz bear cannister out there?

Stole this from another forum, and it was too good not to share:

Alas, it lacks Nanny State Police approval.

Should be a good option if you want to feed the bears.

Would it work if you put it inside an Opsak?

If it was 7.4 oz when full of cookies I'd add it to my gear list!

I believe it weighs about 4lbs with the animal crackers in it. Still not too bad, and most people would eat the cookies up in a day or two, lightening it considerably!

I can see the look on the Rangers face when I try to justify it! Thanks for the laugh!

hahahaha! Good one, Namtrag! I DO (seriously) use a new (never filled) one-gallon paint can (available at Home Depot or other home centers for a couple of bucks) for my food storage. Contains smells very well and you need a church key to open it. Don't know how much it weighs, but I know it's lighter (and cheaper) than commercial bear canisters.
