Video is in Norwegian so its hard to appreciate the nuances of the design (or at least the sales pitch), but their web site is in English. There's no mention of whether its sold in the US, but its current price (using Google exchange rate calculator) is $500 and it requires a large inflatable sleeping pad to use (according to the site), easily bringing it to $600 or so. Interesting, but for that amount of money, I'll pass.
That is very interesting. Anyone know what it weighs?

quite a lot of new ideas... but at 4 lbs 3 ounces plus the weight of a sleeping pad, a significant weight penalty. hey, maybe it is worth it! thanks for posting -- I never would have found this...

Definitely a different mouse trap, looks like it would sleep great, appears to be no issue of knee lock which traditional hammocks have. I recently make a couple of hammocks, the first a double with the intent of using a sleeping pad between, I couldn't stay on the pad so I'm looking at making an UQ, only issue then is going to ground. I like the fact that you can use trees closer together which should lighten your suspension and tarp.
Well, I had to haul, and use, a sleeping pad anyway (especially in the Smokies) so it's not necessarily new weight. My problem was that as much as I dearly LOVED my Blackbird and Superfly, I'm a stomach sleeper, so it was hell getting to sleep regardless of how exhausted I was whenever I couldn't avail myself of a shelter. I just considered the "extra weight" of my set up to be worth it, considering it kept me off the ground, was pretty comfortable, warm and dry. If this new hammock could allow me to sleep flat on my stomach, then for ME, it would be a win-win. And yea, it's all pretty moot if you can't afford it anyway.
Just stumbled across this. pretty neat idea. would love to try it out before purchase, but I do not know many people who have these.

The weight presumably includes the weight of the tarp. You can watch the video with English subtitles if you click on the little CC button at bottom right of the video screen.
A little hard to use a standard tarp over I think.
As to being able to stomach sleep, a bridge hammock fits the bill nicely without the weight of this one and the difficulty of tarping it.
