    Hi Bob,

    Fifty or so years ago?

You got to know that we have got to know more!

The hardcore AT history buffs would really like to know more!!

Can you share a bit, perhaps in a new thread?

Putski how did you come by that trail name?

  6. #86

    Smile

The name was given because of the behavior similiar to the famous Polish wrestler, Ivan Putski. Of course that was many years ago now. Will have to see if a new trail name is given next year.

Default I plan on starting early March

My wife and her friend will be joining me.

What size pack sould I go with. A salesman suggested a 3700-4200 pack but I'm not sure. My wife and her friend plan on using me as a pack mule. I weigh 205 and I'd like to keep my pack down to around 35lbs.

    Default Appalachian Trail Institute

Just wanted to let the AT Class of 2006 know that the last ATI being held before the thru-hiking season starts will be from Dec. 16-19 at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC (near the trail in the Roan Highlands). Right now, we have ten folks signed up, including nine Class of 2006 potential thru-hikers. More info on the ATI can be found on my website below.
    Happy trails!
