I have met many "Turtles" and "Pilgrims" on the trail the last 3 years.

It's something I'm very excited about. (Not sure why... maybe it's the communal feeling a nick-name provides? Or maybe I feel like it'll answer questions about myself. Like the trail will break me open and and the name will be the augur.)
I'm sure animal names are really popular.

Met a lot of variations of "bear" and "bird" on the trail this year. And, there were THREE Chuckles!!
Whoops, meant last year...
I like the idea of trailnames. Anyhow, "they" didn't ask us, did they?

i met a "couple" named "stuff sack" and "deep pack" i hiked an extra 7 miles that day to the next shelter!
I recall a lot of Striders around the time the first LOTR came out.
Funny that you should throw out Molly as a name since my wife's name is Molly and my favorite 80s movie is The Breakfast Club. Ironic isn't it?

Anything with Nomad or Roamer in it.
If I had to go with a new trail name, I'd choose Mick Dodge. However, I'd have to wear buckskin and go shoeless while I hike.
I picked Journeywoman several years ago for a number of different reasons. Is it a cliche now? I haven't heard of or seen any others......
I got dubbed "Wobbles" by a 14 year old who told me I walked funny on the trail...still don't understand how I wobble but it fit for some reason. 0.o

Haha. Talking with people at work and I brought in some authentic ramen. Just got named "Fancy Ramen". Now that's a trail name.
