Rockfish Gap - Pocison Fire Road, help please

I am planning a 4 day 3 night trip between Rockfish Gap and Pocison Fire Road this May. Just wondering if anyone knowes of existing campsites in the Doyles River Outlook area. Not interested in staying at the cabin if possible.

First off, not sure whether you meant to say that you were interested in staying at the PATC Cabin or not , PATC cabins can be rented out to the public but that is on a reservation basis only.

There is a primitive campsite along the lower Doyle River , in the gap where it meets the Jones Run Trail.

The last time I went through the Shenendoah I found that there was always a nice camp site at or near the highpoints.
