I agree with the above...I hiked from North to South and wished I had done it the other way around. You'll enjoy the hike either way though, that is one of my favorite hikes in the area

I did Jockeys Ridge to New Bern in March and I don't recall any good hammock spots the entire way. Maybe while stealth camping a few places but I'd have to say that a tent or tarp would be much more...
