it's generally the area surrounding the Park....

cause the range of mountains that the Park is part of is also called Smoky Mountains....

they are a high dollar resort.........

and hence why they sent out the ATVs to look for their clients who became "lost"....

i was in CS 2 when the ATV's went up the trail............they were also using a chain saw to cut blowdowns...

i called the park about it on the monday after this happened, and the park was not...

yeah....

it leads to blackberry farms..............the resort..........

and they aren't too keen on non paying guests hiking on their land.....

be careful of 21 and 24.....

they tend to get closed down every year due to bear activity.......

and there are some really nice private spots on the west side of the creek, going down stream.........

the main spot at the bridge is nice but if you want some privacy and what...

i havent been back up there since my first time in either 2013 or 2014....

the ribbons i was following were sun faded and looked to be years old.......

on some of the trails in that area----there are some faint, probably decades old blazes along with some ax marks in the trees.....along with some years old ribbons in some places as well...

i dont think it officially closes as opposed to be more like---"the snow is so deep, that i cant get through without a 4X4".....


i have been up there and driving through it with a sedan with 3-4...

i think pretty much everyone gets lost right at that point.........
