Couldn't you test your backpack liners by filling them with water, and seeing if they drip? No need to change them out if they are fine.
I had ordered one for the same! Does it hold up to rain or non-hurricane winds?
I was helping to steady a boat in high winds trying to take off from an island which was going to overflow due to flooding from the sea current. I was crotch deep in water and had my backpack, a...
Searching for ultralight tarps, I didn't see any that had a reflective side. I thought this would be a wanted feature. Why isn't it? I don't think a reflective coating would add that much weight?
Has rain ever wet your gear, when you weren't using a pack liner or dry sack, but did use a rain cover for your pack? Aren't backpacks sufficiently rain resistant, especially with a rain cover?
Here on Whiteblaze as well: https://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/showthread.php/114950-Base-Camp-Odor-Barrier-Bags-vs-OPSak
On reddit there is a thread mentioning oven bags are made of the same material as Ursack's Opsak. I think smelling less like food is a good idea. They may go elsewhere with a lesser scent.
Cool thanks!
Maybe it will end up as a bear's birthday piñata.
I wouldn't use it as a pack liner. I was thinking of keeping it in a zip lock, then using it as a bear bag. Maybe you are right and the scent will impregnate food in plastic containers or zip locks.
Has anyone tried Mint-X trash bags on the trail, as a means to protect packaged food from rodents? Also works with raccoons, but I think it may actually attract bears?
Stainless Steel Tool Wrap! A little pricey, but if some of you buy together in bulk, you can share the savings.
I think you could make a fold at the bottom of aluminum foil, thus creating your own standup aluminum foil cooking pot. Will the triple fold in this video hold water? I would test, but I need to...
I currently cook with a wide mouth stainless steel water water bottle: https://mekineer.com/backpacking/kitchen#ultralight-cookware
A collapsible stainless foil pouch would be lighter and easier to...
I'll keep this in mind. I'm going to try using a backpack internal bladder with a carbon containing filter at the end of the tube. Though I still want something metal-collapsible in order to carry...
I wonder if they make ultralight versions of these! :o
Are these lined with plastic in the interior?47751
What I find at the MSR site now is their Dromedary Bags. They are made of PU (polyurethane).

Is the Instaflator gone forever? No one makes it anymore?
This might work, but it's kind of silly to add a filter to filter out the plastic taste, when the bladder could just not be plastic....
Carbon can filter out plastic, so if there is a BeFree filter bottle that contains carbon, I'm in.
I guess even aluminum would be fine: https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/why-does-aluminum-leech-into-a-water-bottle-but-stainless-steel-does-not.638911
Only 90 grams and wide mouth! Excellent. But I was hoping for something collapsible. I only want to have one container with a large volume: a pot. Vargo makes a titanium bottle pot. But...
I try not to breathe as deeply, so I weigh less.
