Hmmm, whatever happened to Malto. He should weigh in on this one...
NoPain's daughter has posted on FB that her father has been 'found.'
I'm sure there is an interesting story here, but the daughter did not say much more.
Miner is correct about the JMT crossing 120. The springs, the cabin, the meadow are all worth a visit with some interesting 'educational kiosks' teaching you about the natural history along the way....
I second a recommendation for 'The GrandView Lodge' if what you want is a retro cabin at a reasonable rate. Just up the hill from Gorham. Just don't try to get the bigger cabin for Labor Day...
My snakeskin came from Kat of 'MountainGoat Gear' and I cannot recommend her work enough. Unfortunately she lost her home in the California fires this summer, and I do not know if she has been able...
There are Scam Ads on FB too. Given the number of complaints, FB must know they are Scammers, but seems to tolerate it. PayPal takes you through the wringer if you try to get your money back.

ldsailor gives good advice. The USPS has treated me well forwarding late packages or returns at my request.
I have used mail drops very selectively. I like to keep my options open.
My first name is a closely guarded secret.
Great photos.
Nice report.
I did my taxes today :(
When I took the 3 PM bus what I remembered was that there were a lot of school kids who seem to have to travel long distances on that bus to get to school and back.
ldsailor,
I took the bus to Campo. I no longer have the information on schedules and such but I flew from Boston and made it to Campo all in one day. Probably got to the San Diego airport around...
Those of who have to fly to our trailhead have to consider if flights on these moving petri-dishes will even be available when the time comes. I've been holding off purchasing my flights until there...
ldsailor, it could be a good time to try some of the lesser known brands.
I like PackIt Gourmet a lot. Pricier, but worth it.

Maine's Good-to-Go is also very good....
The last year Scout & Frodo will be hosting. Nice, enjoy and have fun.
I received the National Geographic maps today.
As expected they are high quality maps made of sturdy water resistant paper. I was surprised to see that the maps were produced in 'book form' (you...
Miner, I have two section maps on the way. I will let you know once they arrive.
At $15 each buying all 11 maps could get quite expensive, although there is a 'full map bundle' deal for $125.
When I hike I use physical maps (I'm not a Smartphone/ Guthook kind of guy). I was very disappointed today to learn that Halfmile is no longer producing his fine downloadable maps of the PCT.
See...
Nanatuk,
PCT section hiker here. I flew from Boston to San Diego, took the bus and got to Campo all in one day. It can be done. It was late afternoon when I got there, and I wanted a sunrise...
When it comes to fast cooking pasta, nothing beats couscous. Ya, I know, you were probably thinking of something with a red gravy, but there are so many different ways you can spice up a basic...
I'm in
Scotty
Lots like you will get a bit of snow on Saturday. Just enough to make things pretty.
Did someone on this site defame the King?
If anyone has a way of reaching out to Another Kevin, he should get an invite.
Malto, the effort they put into this was mind boggling. And the many volunteers too. The Saufleys were kind enough to host me (and 49 others) last summer, glad I got to experience this before it...
Open for 2020?
Sort of.....
We will have to see how Plan B works out
