Desitin….does the trick
Baby rash desitin
Lady solemate runs ultras and this is what she swears by
Apparently it’s what most ultra people wear.
After 50 miles body glide will leave you bleeding. I’ve seen it, it’s...
To answer your question, this hiker doesn’t
Anything above 75 is too hot for me, so I find locations where it doesn’t get that hot.
Sept would be just fine
2nd half of June is more risky than early sept.
We were there over July 4th this year and there was still lots of snow on many north facing peaks, but other peaks were...
I hiked it years ago. Don’t remember water ever being an issue. Nice trail. I got turned around a bit at the ski resort; it wasn’t real well marked thru there at the time. Fall is a nice time to...
Thanks for the report. We’re headed to CO next summer and might try to hit this area on the way to the San Juans.
Hey we are looking for a shuttle in this area in a few weeks. Anyone know some reputable shuttles?
I too saw absolutely no one on this trail except when on the road walk. It’s a great alternative to the more popular trails.
We kept to a schedule we made beforehand pretty much the whole hike. We were only about a week off (early). It’s easily doable with planning.
Stayed there over thanksgiving. Excellent hiker spot with great hosts. Would highly recommend.

We went up Marcy one October, and like other hikes in the northeast it can get mean fast. A light snow and 25 degrees turned into below 0 and 8 inches in a hurry before we were off the mountain. ...

I regularly go in temps that are around 0, and always with an x-therm. Highly recommended by me. I use mine year round. I have never taken 2 pads nor have I ever seen the need when paired with my...
While it has poles, I’m a fan of the simple big Agnes fly creek. I think it meets all of your other criteria. Im your same height but 50 lb heavier and have no issues with space in the 2 man, and...
I go nowhere without a book. I literally take one everywhere. If I have a spare 5 minutes even, you’ll find me reading. I just got back from a backpacking trip and took David McCullough’s Truman. ...

Never have understood the wood stove. If I don’t bring a stove, I just cook on the fire. Zero weight except the pot and lighter, which I would carry anyways.
Nice! This one’s been on my list for several years now. Just got back from a section on the north country…
Hiked along Wilburn ridge last weekend. Always good to go back home!
Saw a grizzly couple weeks ago. Jumped right out on the trail in front of me not 10 yds away. Somehow it didn’t see Or hear me til then. We were in brush over my head. A simple “ hey bear” and it...
