I love rule #2.....here's a thought: if they must have a schedule, write it on T.P. and then at least it will be useful for something.

You don't need to worry about finding a partner in early march. there will be a lot of hikers on the trail with you. If you just start out on your own, you'll find that a hiking family will develop...
