As reasonable as any other snuff box.
Miguel, I'm sure we'll run into each other. Do what I did: Convince someone who loves to drive you. I bribed my love with promises of Waffle House.
True. Though the bourbon in my hand might help. (I wasn't taking any license in saying I needed a drink.;))
Poetic license. I'm excited and looking forward to it. Well aware it's a well-trodden path.
I hope you all have a great hike!
Folks, in his gear pics I spotted a shower pouf. 'Nuff said.
Well, this is it. I'm leaving for Georgia in the morning; hitting the approach Saturday. I'm experiencing some intense nervous excitement. I think I need a drink.
Thanks for all the advice and info....
I'm leaving in two days and still debating whether or not to take my Nook. At 8.3 oz it feels a little heavy. I could read on my smart phone, but that would kill the battery. I might just take it...
Ask the shadow people. They know things.
I haven't tried it, but I would think the dissolved salts would crystallize and clog the filter. Desalination is a much different and more expensive process than filtering, hence the reason...
Can't believe you mentioned Dr. Demento. Have not heard that name for along time. Have to disagree on the easy to confuse part. Both weird dudes yes but totally different shows.[/QUOTE]

I have an REI Flash 50 with the frame and brain removed. Just over 26 oz.
I came to this site for the information; I stayed for the snark.
Postage for mail drops, gear replacements, medical emergencies, shuttles, transport to and from trail, and, yes hostels or motels (you never know when you might have to wait out a storm or illness).
No boots! Brooks Cascadia 7.
The Flash 50 is a great pack at a great price. It can configured as frameless pack, as well. I have one and have no complaints.

I used to carry a dSLR on day hikes, but even that got to be annoying. As Shutterbug said, I found I had to be carrying it at all times. Wearing it around my neck was painful so I would wear it...
Regarding the CMOS sensor, the AW100 has vibration reduction. I had similar concerns about that but my test shots have shown that stability isn't an issue. The VR seems to perform remarkably well.
