I haven't tried it but just had a look and it looks almost identical to the one I used. The extendable hip belt and removable lid would be the only major differences. It certainly looks like the one...

Hi Blackett,
I found that regular packtowels were pretty bad at sopping up liquids (like tent condensation) and after a few swipes on the inside of a tent were pretty useless. The shamwows seemed...
I just posted something similar. It seems pretty damn likely to me as well.
I NOBO hiked the AT in 2009 with a GPS logger and recently stumbled upon this gem from a Google Maps video presentation:

Go to 35min 34sec and you'll...
Oh D.O.C. it's really hard not to respond without saying what's up in the obvious way...
How you been chief, I heard that you got hurt pretty bad in the Whites, what went down? Where you at these...
@ TNman,
No worries chief, its my pleasure. Your target weight sounds good. I was also a noob to hiking before my thru; the AT was my first hike. Good luck.

yep, that's them. Mine was slightly older maybe, because I notice 2 zippers on that bag. Either way its way better that having to dump out your food everytime you want a cliff bar.

Any word on trail conditions? I'd imagine that they are generally fine but has anyone actually seen any issues on trail?
Absolutely. When I was in Georgia and NC - everyone that I thought would make it didn't, and those that I thought wouldn't make it stood on top of the big K sign screaming.
The AT was my first hike (excluding a 5 day hike when I was 13 in Outward Bound). I was at Springer 30 days after finding out what the AT was. It took me 6.5 months and I was a fatty at the start.
Oh and there were two guys named Tiger and Gator from my year that did a NOBO thru that were your age. I would recommend getting in touch with them. I can get you their numbers if you send me a...
Have a look at the article that I posted just after completing my Thru in '09:

Oh my beautiful Chainy..... You know, I hadn't even thought of that. She will definitely be coming along. How you been Buffalo?
Surprisingly enough freezer bags hold up with boiling hot water inside them. I would use my cat stove to boil water and put my dinner (dried pasta or whatever) into the bag, then pour the water into...
Thanks for your thought Slo-go'en,
I was referring to the multi day Lake Champlain walk and hitting some more challenging climbs at the end as a highlight rather that the trail just petering out...
I hear you guys,
How about a Sept 15 or so start NOBO or even a NOBO start from where the AT and LT split? There was a guy named Spaceman that drew comic in the AT registers in 2009 who said it...
McBride here (NOBO AT 2009 03/06-09/26)
I have spent the last 18 months living in Port-au-Prince Haiti and am thinking about how great a LT Thru would be to clear the head after the last year and...

I used a 2 liter platy and had to replace it at Delaware Water gap (to a 1.5 liter) due to it getting funky. It hung in the airspace of my osprey 50L atmos' pack suspension. I also carried 2 one...
