I am not going to tell my wife about this incident.
Yes, but you can't actually buy one off the Optimus site.
There are many e-tailers other than the big one that sell this stove, mostly in the range of $110 dollars or so.
To the best of my knowledge the Svea 123Rs were never made in the U.S. I have one of the newer ones, and while I don't still have the box, I'm reasonably certain it was made in China. With that...
Nice to know I'm not alone. I have an MSR, but I still love and use my Svea regularly.
I've used it for years - works great, and it's what you should be using. I"m not sure what other fuel you would consider.
I used Dave Page to resoe a pair of Vasque St. Elias GTXs, and he did an amazing job. Even wilder is that the replacement soles seem much more rugged and are wearing better than the original ones. I...

Just FYI, I was at Fontana Dam today, and the showers and restrooms at the visitor center were closed for renovations still. Showers just above the Fontana Hilton were open.
I wanna hear more about 'Boat Anchor'.
Let us know what it turns out to be.
No it doesn't, and I've been thinking about that a lot while reading this thread. I'm actually surprised this sort of thing doesn't happen more often up in that area.
I hiked to Shuckstack from Fontana a week ago, and they were doing some work on the showers/bathrooms. They were closed, as was the visitor center.

Rather than start a new thread, I'll throw in a kudos to Osprey. A piece of the slider that keeps my water reservoir from my Manta 36 tightly closed broke. I sent them a picture, and they responded...
