Don't bring a gun. You won't need it.

I own one as well, but I mainly used it as a camp water source. Especially if the water was far away... Only one trip was enough for most people in camp to share for the night.

CBass is the man. I climbed Katahdin with him on Sept. 30th. Def. good people.

Thanks for all the info! I'm planning my first 'thru hike' beginning in March. I'm still unsure which way I'm going to go on the whole pole thing. I'm leaning toward 2 poles.

any thoughts on these three options? pro's n con's. :-?
