your body will adjust and tell you whether you can speed up or slow down. Sometimes we want to keep going but we shouldn't. Pack weight is a killer.

Get a compacter bag and put it inside. Lightest, easiest. Done.

As someone who started solo and didn't make it as long as I would liked to have, I would suggest starting with someone. Especially early on your just aren't going to be walking all day and it helps...

I liked sheltering, but you need to have a fall-back unless your traveling against the grain. Even still I ran into some class field trips etc out there.
