If you camp on the other side of the mountain and traverse it to descend hunt trail and camp a ksc you actually get the permit after your climb.

I'm using the 10s as beater shoes at work. Surprisingly durable. Pretty horrible insole stock.

nano air plus rain shell is a good combo
nano air plus a helium II is pretty much usable in all conditions. throw in an r1 and it pushes it to usable below 0.

the beauty of 2 days at ksc is a little rest and maybe a little bit of baxter fun walk to blueberry ledges. some swimming cook up some good chow before striking out.
